Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred is the high-end product designed for most everyday users and schools. Available at hundreds of dollars below the Professional version, Preferred packs all the punch most educators, students, writers, and business people require. Capable of learning from its mistakes to improve upon its already outstanding accuracy, NatSpeak 8 is packed with Natural Language Technology (NLT) commands for use with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, Outlook, and Corel WordPerfect.
Preferred is designed to work with Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Professional. Preferred 8 requires a minimum 1.2 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM.
- Most Accurate Ever - Significant improvements to the Dragon NaturallySpeaking recognition system has yielded an unprecedented accuracy improvement of up to 25 percent over the previous release, resulting in speech recognition accuracy levels as high as 99 percent.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Standard
Standard, and other scaled-down versions of Dragon NaturallySpeaking, is not suitable for Microsoft Office applications beyond Microsoft Word. It also doesn't allow voice-macros and other such important error correction and improvement features. It's an unsuitable choice for the business education classroom, especially given the reduced price of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred licenses.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional
Professional is perhaps overkill for most business education classrooms. However, its power and ability to move into the medical, legal, and other professions is impressive. Professional is a customizable/programmable version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking that is used to create customized solutions for businesses.
The Professional version allows specially trained Dragon NaturallySpeaking experts to create macros that can be shared across an entire corporation. For example, Professional allows the creation of voice macros that can launch a sales database, an insurance form, a legal brief, a police report, fill in the necessary boilerplate, and take the user to the exact spot starting point they require. The Professional version can save companies millions of dollars by increasing productivity. There are separate versions of Professional with customized vocabularies for medical, legal, and public safety organizations.

- Smart Text and Graphics Shortcuts - Instantly create boilerplate templates with variable values defined. For example, say "stock option grant 60 1000" and a stock option grant template appears with the vesting beginning in 60 days and the number of shares at 1000. Say "stock option grant 30 5000" and the same template appears with the vesting beginning in 30 days and the number of shares at 5000.
