Rick gave us the idea of placing this demo online to help out with some of those nerve racking demonstrations. We hope you enjoy the demo. (I did this quickly, so if you see any errors, please let me know. And thanks, Rick!)

Preparation

The first time you try this demo in the quiet of your own room, correct all of the mistakes in the Correction Window and you should be ready to demonstrate in front of a group. The first time you practice the demonstration, you may get abbreviations for state names, such as AZ for Arizona. You can teach your software to spell the states out if you correct them in the correction window as you learned to do in Lesson 4. Also, the word "state" in Lone Star State won't be capitalized properly. You can capitalize this error in your demo by saying, "select Lone Star state, cap that" which will certainly impress your audience, or you may wish to train it in advance using the NaturallySpeaking/Words/Add Individual Word sequence so that it always capitalizes correctly. Explain how you did this to your audience.

This demonstration is a great one to use because it quickly shows a range of formatting and dictation options are available. We have even included numbers and a bulleted list. Very cool. Saving is also fun to demonstrate. And, if you want to copy all of the document and copy it to Microsoft Word your audience will be suitably impressed.

Don't forget to run on Audio Check (NaturallySpeaking/Advanced/Check Audio) before you do any demonstration. Any new room presents its own unique acoustic qualities, and you need to set the audio levels for that room.

And Now, the Infamous George Washington Demo for Dragon NaturallySpeaking 5 and 6 using classic Dragon commands.
