Making Word Your E-Mail Editor in Outlook 2003

(Note: We recommend that this lesson be introduced in the Advanced section of the Nifty 58 along with Exercises 107 and 108.)
For Dragon users, Microsoft Word is by far the most powerful speech recognition application. It has the richest speech application programming interface and allows the most flexibility when voice-formatting and voice-editing. Wouldn't it be nice to use Microsoft Word to create your e-mail messages! Well now you can.
Follow the simple steps to make sure that Microsoft Word is your e-mail editor in Microsoft Outlook 2003. Choose this link to read other thoughts about e-mail.
1. From the main Microsoft Outlook window, open the * TOOLS menu, click * OPTIONS, and then choose the * MAIL FORMAT tab.
2. Marked the * USE MICROSOFT WORD TO EDIT E-MAIL MESSAGES check box.
1. We tend to be very casual with e-mail. Ergo, it is essential that you correct each and every voice mistake using levels 1-4 error correction techniques every time you write you e-mail with your voice. Not only will your e-mail become more and more accurate, but you will give to Dragon a tremendous amount of information on how you actually speak, making your profile all the better. But remember, nothing replaces good old-fashioned pronunciation, which is sometimes forgotten in the rush to finish an e-mail message!
2. Microsoft Outlook Express no longer supports the speech application programming interface needed to support Dragon NaturallySpeaking effectively. This applies to most other proprietary e-mail clients such as Eudora or Novell. If you can't switch to Outlook 2003, a better option may be to use a webmail service using Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
