OneNote Assignments

44-245 DigiTools – 50 pts

If you have a campus-distributed laptop, it is strongly encouraged you use it for your OneNote assignments.  Bring it to class the days we work with OneNote.  Otherwise, you will need to work on ONE pc in CH 1150 for all the work involved in this module.

In-Class LectureErgonomics –20 pts

Ergonomics Lecture

  1. On the course web page, in the Assignments Link of the OneNote button, there is an Ergonomics PowerPoint file.  You can open that file and keep it open during the lecture to copy/paste text from it—to save time and effort keying during the lecture.  That way you can add “embellishments” from the Lecturer or marginal notes of your own.

  2. Choose a stationery template from the Decorative group.  Use the same stationery on each page today

  3. Paste one selection from a web page about ergonomics that enhances the notes you took (see links in the Assignments link beneath the OneNote button on the course web page)

  4. Add at least five flags anywhere throughout your notes.

  1. When completed with this in-class work,  follow your instructor’s directions for printing the notes.  Then copy your OneNote file(s) from the My Notebook folder in My Documents to your flash drive or student storage on Catbert as a back up.

Notebook Organization – 10 pts.

Organize your Notebook to reflect at least three folders, with a folder called Classes, having DigiTools within that folder..  Rename the default folders to fit your needs and “life.”  For example, you will have a folder “Classes” for the classes you’re taking but may rename one for “Organizations”  to represent the organizations of which you are a member.   Delete unnecessary folders or sections, but have at least two sections in each folder.  You do not have to have notes in each folder/section—just have your notebook organized in this manner.  Include the notes you take from another class in its respective place (see below).

Notes from another class – unless you have a notebook or tablet with OneNote on which you can take notes, you will take notes manually with paper/pencil in another class and enter them into OneNote after you leave class – 20 pts.

1.      Identify the class, instructor, and date(s) you took the notes.  Have a section for this class, whether it’s Psychology, Composition, History, etc.

2.      Choose a stationery template from the Academic subgroup.

3.      Have at least 3 (three) OneNote pages/subpages for your notes.

4.      Place at least three flags through the notes

5.      Highlight at least three sections of text in a color.

6.      Depending on the class from which your notes come, I want to see notes from the entire class period; the quantity of notes generated is variable depending on the class, instructor, and what happens on a given day.  At least three vertical pages of notes are expected – that may mean you have one vertical page of notes within three OneNote Pages or Subpages.

To submit the OneNote assignments to the course Dropbox in eCompanion:

  1. Zip all folders/files into one file of your OneNote work.
  2. Upload to the Dropbox on the course web site, one OneNote file so that all assignments are viewable.
